JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Santa Catalina Ranger District of the Coronado National Forest is seeking Volunteer Recreation Technicians. As a Volunteer Recreation Technician, you’ll play a vital role in keeping our forests clean, safe, and enjoyable for all. The volunteer’s primary duties are:

  • Maintaining trailheads, campgrounds, picnic sites, and other public use areas.
  • Collecting trash and picking up litter.
  • Conducting safety checks and ensuring that our recreation sites meet the necessary standards.
  • Driving a government vehicle to check on and maintain recreation sites.
  • Engaging with visitors to provide information on recreation and conservation.

 

We are asking for an 8 hour a week commitment. Trailer pads are available with a commitment of 24 hours a week. We ask volunteers to commit a minimum of 3 months up to a maximum of 6 months. Our Sabino Canyon trailer spots can accommodate a 31ft trailer but no pets are allowed. Our Palisades trailer spots accommodate a 22ft trailer and pets are allowed but is at an elevation of around 8,000 feet.
