JOB DESCRIPTION:
Please thoroughly review the following description for details and instructions on filling out your application. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
We are recruiting campground hosts for the 2026 season in all of our east side campgrounds (Aspenglen Campground, Glacier Basin Campground, Longs Peak Campground, Moraine Park Campground) and our west side campground (Timber Creek Campground).
Most campground host sites can accommodate an RV or trailer that is up to 35 or 40ft in length. Electric hookups are 30 or 40 amps, and adapters may be available. Most campgrounds have full hookups. Longs Peak Campground has a portable water system.
Please note that hosts who are able to serve the entire season will be given priority, but partial seasons may be considered. Learn more about the tentative season of each campground below:
Aspenglen Campground: late May through late September
Glacier Basin Campground: late May through early September
Longs Peak Campground: early July through early September
Moraine Park Campground: late May through late October
Timber Creek Campground: late May through early October
Schedule: 3 days on, 3 days off. At all sites besides Longs Peak, you will work with at least one other campground host. Hosts will need to serve at least 32 hours per week to qualify for park housing, (an RV/trailer site at the campground) but may be required to serve more. It is unlikely that you will work the same days of the week, every week. For example, you might work Monday-Wednesday one week, Sunday-Tuesday into the next week, Saturday-Monday into the following week, etc. Specific days/hours of shifts will be decided between the hosts and the campground supervisor.
Duties include, but are not limited to: cleaning out fire pits, removing debris from campsites, encouraging compliance with campground rules, reporting any disturbances to the park’s law enforcement, and following instructions from park staff. Volunteers will be required to work long hours on their feet. Volunteers must be kind, welcoming, and professional with all visitors and fellow staff.
All campground hosts who are selected will be required to:
Complete and pass a federal background investigation
Complete CPR/First Aid/AED Training and be physically able to provide CPR
Complete volunteer paperwork via Volunteer.gov
Report volunteer hours via Volunteer.gov and a paper timesheet
In your application, include the following in the ‘Previous Volunteer Experience’ section:
Any past experience serving as a campground host for a national park, national forest, state park, or other campground. You are welcome to add additional volunteer experience that does not directly relate to campgrounds, as well.
In your application, include the following information in the ‘Any other additional qualifications?’ section:
Your dates of availability
The length of your trailer/RV
Which campgrounds you would like to be considered for/are willing to host at
Recruitment via Volunteer.gov will continue until all positions are filled. We cannot guarantee that we’ll be able to tell you whether or not you have been selected for the position by a certain date. Conducting interviews and extending offers is a lengthy process, but most positions are often filled by late February.
Incomplete applications will not be considered.
