RV Park Host Volunteer Program
The Santa Cruz Harbor RV Park is a premier destination for RV travelers visiting the Santa Cruz area. Located within the scenic Santa Cruz Harbor, the park offers convenient access to a variety of local attractions, including beautiful beaches, popular restaurants, downtown Santa Cruz, and the iconic Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk. Harbor Beach is located approximately one mile from the RV sites, providing quick and easy access to the sand and surf.
The Volunteer Park Host Position
The Santa Cruz Port District is seeking a qualified and experienced RV Park Host to serve as the primary on-site liaison between RV Park guests and the harbor office.
Host duties vary, but typically include overseeing reservations for the Port District’s 12-site RV Park using an online booking system, greeting guests and offering guidance on local attractions and amenities, and ensuring compliance with park rules and regulations.
In exchange for approximately 25 hours of service per week, the host is provided with a full hook-up RV site for the duration of the assignment. The host may serve for a maximum term of twelve months, with the potential for extension based on performance and program needs.
Minimum Requirements
To ensure the highest level of service in our high-volume park, prior experience as an RV Park Host is required. Applicants who meet the following qualifications are encouraged to apply:
- Must possess your own fully self-contained RV (max length: 42’) that fits within the designated site.
- Prior experience as an RV Park Host.
- Customer service experience.
- Familiarity with or willingness to learn and navigate online reservation systems.
- Ability to maintain a professional appearance and represent the Port District in a courteous manner.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to commit to a term of up to twelve months.
Compensation
This is a volunteer position; no salary is provided. Full hook-up RV space and utilities are provided at no charge, in exchange for service.
