Job Description

We are looking for a result-driven retail Sales Associate to work our high volume, seasonal General and Camp Store this summer! Sales Associate duties and responsibilities include working closely with customers to determine their needs, answer their questions about our campground and store products, and recommend the right solutions. You should be able to promptly resolve complaints and ensure a positive relationship with guests and customers. You should become knowledgeable on all campground information, stay up-to-date with products sold and maintain our store’s visual appearance in high standards. Ultimately, the duties of a sales associate are to achieve excellent customer service, while consistently meeting the store’s goals for the day.

The shift times are from 1:00PM – 8:00PM, Thursday through Monday (off Tuesday and Wednesday). The shift would also be for our summertime “Moose Tours”.  The Moose Tours are a nighttime, local area attraction that drive our local roads looking for Moose.  They make a pit stop during the tour to shop the store and use the bathrooms.  The Moose Tour shift would be additional to the camp store shift and would be from 10:00PM – 10:45PM (may vary in less time, it typically lasts 30 minutes).

Responsibilities:

-Welcome customers to the store and answer their queries.
-Process retail POS (point of sale) purchases.
-Request and approve identification for alcohol and tobacco sales (must be 21 years of age).
-Check-in and check-out campground guests.
-Assess customers needs and provide assistance and information on store products, campground layout and reservation information.
-Scoop and serve ice cream.
-Cut, weigh and package our homemade fudge.
-Maintain in-stock and presentable condition of store items.
-Remain knowledgeable on products offered in the store and discuss available options for purchases.
-Remain knowledgeable on local area attractions, road directions and places to see or visit in the White Mountains region to satisfy customer and guest questions.
-Team up with co-workers to ensure proper customer service
-Build productive trust relationships with customers and guests.
Comply with inventory procedures.

Skills:

-Strong ability to work independently and confidence with ability to work alone.
-A friendly and energetic personality with customer service focus.
-Ability to perform under pressure and address complaints in a timely manner.
-Willingness to work in a resort type atmosphere (willingness to be flexible with job duties as needed by management).
-Proven work experience as a Retail Sales associate, Sales representative or similar role
-Basic understanding of sales principles and customer service practices
-Proficiency in English
-Basic Math skills
-Hands-on experience with POS transactions (not mandatory).
-Familiarity with inventory procedures
-Solid communication and interpersonal skills
-Availability to work flexible shifts!
-High school degree would be a plus
