Camp Host Position Available at Yuba State Park:
Yuba State Park (stateparks.utah.gov/parks/yuba/) is seeking a friendly and reliable camp host for the Painted Rock Campground for the summer 2025 season (May – September).
Camp Host Site Amenities:
The camp host position includes a campsite with full hookups (water, power, sewer) and covered parking for your rig. A washer, dryer, and gym are available across the lake (approximately 20-minute drive), and groceries can be purchased 16 miles south in Gunnison, Utah, or 26 miles north in Nephi, Utah.
Camp Host Duties and Requirements:
In exchange for the campsite, a minimum of 20 hours of volunteer work per week is required, preferably on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays. Duties include posting reservation tags, checking in campers, selling firewood, light restroom cleaning, and assisting campers with information. A criminal background check is required.
Paid Work Opportunity:
Once the required 20 volunteer camp host hours are met, paid shifts may be available at the entrance booth starting at $14 per hour. Entrance booth duties include greeting guests, collecting entrance fees, checking in boats for the Aquatic Invasive Species Program, and selling firewood.
About the Campground:
The Painted Rocks Campground, located in central Utah, overlooks Yuba Reservoir and offers 41 campsites and one group site. Popular attractions include the boat launch, swim beach, and OHV trail access. The campground offers a mix of busy weekends and quiet days for relaxation. Its central location makes it a great home base for exploring Utah’s diverse attractions.
