JOB DESCRIPTION:
The announcement is for one volunteer position. Can be a couple or an individual. A campsite with full hookup (sewer, water and electric – 50amp/30amp/110v) will be provided.
Piney Grove Beach is located on Bay Springs Lake, which is a 6,700 acre lake on the Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway. The park is located in the northeast corner of Mississippi about 20 minutes from Alabama and 40 minutes from Tennessee. The Natchez Trace and several state parks are near by.
Major job duties include: Open and close entrance gate, inspect park for maintenance issues, hand out life jackets at the gatehouse, assist visitors with automated fee machine, organized life jackets at end of day, and issue annual day use passes. About half of the work is indoors and the other half outdoors. You will be working independently, however, park rangers are commonly in the area (daily).
