DEPT: Bureau of Land Management
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Bureau of Land Management, (BLM) Upper Willamette Field Office seeks an experienced, enthusiastic host or host couple to join our team at Shotgun Creek Recreation Site! Shotgun Creek is a popular year-round day-use area boasting numerous recreation opportunities, such as hiking, picnicking, shelter rentals, sport fields, and a seasonal swimming area. Visitors also enjoy easy access to the 34-mile Shotgun OHV trail system just north of the recreation site.

The selected volunteer(s) must have strong interpersonal and customer service skills, as visitor interactions occur daily. Volunteers are also required to perform maintenance duties, such as landscaping (weed-eating, mowing, leaf blowing) and cleaning (restrooms, litter collection, etc.) Based on these physical duties, volunteers must be able and willing to walk up to 5 miles per day and lift up to 25 pounds. Site-based training is provided by BLM staff upon entry on duty.
One RV site with full hook-ups (electric, sewer, water) is provided for lodging. Volunteers also have access to high-speed internet service via Starlink.
This position is a minimum 6-month commitment with the opportunity for an extension to year-round service.
