DESCRIPTION:

We are seeking a Campground Host for Shores Lake Recreation Area. The site is located We will provide 50 amp service, septic, water and more.

 

Shores Lake Recreation Area is located in the heart of the Boston Mountain range of the Ozark Mountains. this area offers rugged mountain bluffs and spectacular scenery with a lake and a picturesque CCC dam. Visitors can view rock bluffs, swim in a crystal clear lake, fish, picnic, boat, camp and hike the nearby Shores Lake Loop and Ozark Highlands Trail. To get to the Shores Lake Recreation Area from Ozark, take IH-40 West to Arkansas 215 North from Mulberry for 15 miles, then follow Forest service Road 1505 for 1/2 a mile. Follow signs to the campground.

 

DUTIES

Responsibilities of the hosts will include: Providing friendly service and recreational information, light mowing, bathroom, shower house, and vault toilet cleaning, minor site cleanup and trash pick-up. The Host will not collect money, nor handle financial receipts, but will be asked to verify compliance by visitors properly displaying fee envelope receipts.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum of 3 months as a prior host, ability to lift 20 lbs and sit, reach, bend over, climb, and walk for extended periods of time (1-4 hours). Janitorial experience and light house cleaning.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The host will live in a remote setting that may have intermittent communication with Forest staff and will be expected to work 5 days a week (Thursday – Monday) and most holidays. Summer temps are in the upper 90’s during the day and low 70’s at night.
