Ranger Station Attendant
Job Description
As a ranger station volunteer here, you will work with terrific staff to greet guest, collect park fees, answer phones/ questions, and help keep the ranger station clean. We look forward to expanding our team with you.
Standing out from the relatively flat topography of Central Florida is Alafia River State Park, a reclaimed phosphate mine with some of the most radical elevation changes in the state. This makes it a hot spot for mountain bikers who traverse the scenic and challenging International Mountain Bike Association trails. Equestrians and hikers can explore 20 miles of hilly trails through forests and flatwoods, stopping to relax and admire the many lakes abundant with wild-life. Canoeing and fishing opportunities are available along the South Prong of the Alafia River with some lakes scattered throughout the park.
REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES:

Good people skills (customer service experience would be helpful)
Pass National and Florida Sexual Predator check
Comfortable working a point of sales system (onsite training will be available)
SCHEDULING REQUIREMENTS:
Must work 3-4 days a week (shift schedule assigned by operational needs) required 24 hours per week per site. A maximum stay of four months per year from start date is permitted with this position.
TRAINING/PRE-REQUISITS:
Orientation and training will be given on site
Uniform apparel you must provide:
~ Khaki color pants, shorts ,or jeans
~ Black belt
~ Black closed-toed shoes/boots and socks
