DESCRIPTION:

Volunteers will work on a 5-7 person trail crew constructing and maintaining trails in the Wind River Mountains on the Pinedale Ranger District. Routine trail maintenance includes; clearing trails of downed trees with crosscut saws and chainsaws, brush removal and cleaning water bars. The trail crew typically camps in the field for up to 10 days at a time. Pack animal support is typically provided to transport tools and some supplies. The Forest Service will provide housing on days off, some camping equipment, tools, training, uniform and reimbursement for subsistence.

 

DUTIES
Primary duties include: Trail construction, maintenance and logout, collecting data on visitor use and impacts, and naturalizing campsites.
