JOB DESCRIPTION:
Position Description:
The Forest Service is seeking friendly, reliable volunteers to serve as Campground Hosts at Brandywine Recreation Area, a scenic site nestled in the mountains of Pendleton County, West Virginia. Hosts are the welcoming face of the campground and help ensure a safe, clean, and enjoyable experience for all visitors.
Brandywine Recreation Area includes:
35 campsites
A day-use area with beach access and picnic facilities
Two full water bathrooms with showers, one pit toilet
Several trails in and around the campsite
A peaceful forest setting near the town of Brandywine, West Virginia
The host site includes:
Electric hookup
Dump station access
Landline phone connection (limited cell service; T-Mobile only)
Duties:
Greet and assist campers and day-use visitors
Provide information about the site and local area
Monitor facilities and report maintenance needs
Light cleaning and restocking of restrooms and common areas
Support campground operations Thursday through Sunday (we are flexible with availability!)
Qualifications:
Strong communication and customer service skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Comfortable staying on-site in a self-provided RV or trailer
Willingness to perform light maintenance and cleaning tasks
