Reports To: Head of Facilities
Position Overview
Ancient Oaks RV Park is seeking a dependable Maintenance Helper to assist with the upkeep, landscaping, and general maintenance of the park. This position supports the Head of Facilities and is responsible for completing assigned tasks thoroughly and safely. The ideal candidate is reliable, takes direction well, and takes pride in finishing projects to a high standard.
This is a part-time position working three days per week, 20-25 hours a week. This position may require occasional weekend work or being on call when the head of maintenance is not available.
Key Responsibilities
The Maintenance Helper will assist with a variety of tasks necessary to maintain the appearance, safety, and functionality of the RV park, including:
Mowing grass and maintaining landscaped areas
Weed trimming and general groundskeeping
Applying herbicides and insecticides when needed
Watering plants and maintaining planted areas
Operating park equipment including mowers, weed eaters, and UTVs
Assisting with general carpentry and minor repairs
Digging, trenching, and assisting with small construction or maintenance projects
Cleaning and maintaining park facilities and common areas
Helping transport materials and supplies around the property
Completing assigned projects from the Head of Facilities and ensuring they are finished properly
Qualifications
Ability to take direction and complete assigned projects from start to finish
Comfortable working outdoors in hot and humid conditions
Ability to lift and carry heavy items occasionally
Willingness to perform a variety of physical outdoor tasks
Comfortable operating or learning to operate basic landscaping and maintenance equipment
Reliable and punctual
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift 50+ pounds occasionally
Ability to work on feet for extended periods
Ability to perform tasks such as digging, bending, lifting, and carrying
Ability to work safely in outdoor environments typical of the Texas Gulf Coast climate
Schedule
Part-time: 3 days per week
20-25 hours a week
Specific days and hours will be coordinated with the Head of Facilities
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is dependable, hardworking, and takes pride in maintaining a clean and well-kept property. Someone who enjoys outdoor work and can follow direction while ensuring that tasks are completed properly will do well in this role.
Camp Worker Position Agreement
This position is classified as a camp worker arrangement and is not a paid employment position. In exchange for services provided to the property, the camp worker will receive complimentary rent/complimentary RV site as compensation. No wages, salary or monetary payment will be issued for work performed.
A 90-day probationary period will apply at the start of this arrangement. During this time, the camp worker is responsible for payment of their own electricity usage. Upon successful completion of the probationary period, and contingent upon satisfactory performance and fulfillment of duties, electric service costs will be waived as part of the camp worker agreement.
The camp worker agrees to comply with all park rules and policies and to remain current on any required payments during the probation period. Failure to pay or follow park rules will result in a warning being issued, upon the 3rd warning this agreement will be terminated and the camp worker will be subject to eviction from the property.
By accepting this position, the individual acknowledges that their work is provided in exchange for site accommodations only, and that this arrangement does not constitute traditional paid employment.
