Hours and Days of Work; On-Duty Agreement. Park Host shall regularly be on the premises to monitor the park and campground. Employee agrees to be present and available to park guests during park operating hours, which are generally from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., five days a week, as feasible within the limit to not exceed the designated work hours per week. Understanding that peak demand for Employee’s services will be from Fridays through Sundays, Employee acknowledges and agrees to use Employee’s best efforts to schedule longer absences from the Park for Monday through Thursday during the term of this Agreement. If Employee will not be present at the Park, Employee shall post a sign notice in a location acceptable to the Director of Parks and Public Works that specifies what time Employee will return and be available to assist park guests.

Because Employee lives on-site, Employee knows and understands that his/her work is mostly unsupervised. Employee acknowledges that he/she is not “working” all the time Employee is on the Premises and that it is difficult for Employer to determine the exact hours Employee actually works because Employee may engage in normal private pursuits such as eating, sleeping, personal business or activities, entertaining, etc., during those periods when Employee is free of duties. Employee also agrees that if his/her sleeping period is interrupted by a call to duty, the interruption will be counted as hours worked. Employee shall arrange his/her time to carry out assigned Duties and to provide the opportunity for no less than eight (8) uninterrupted hours of sleep each twenty-four (24) hours, except for emergencies affecting health or safety.

Employee agrees that if conditions change so that this Agreement no longer accurately reflects a reasonable estimate of the hours that he/she works, he/she will immediately provide notice in writing to Employer so that this Agreement can be revised, if necessary.

Overtime/Emergencies; Timesheets. Employee agrees that if there should be work that cannot be completed in the hours specified in this Agreement, he/she will not perform such work until he/she obtains permission from Employer, unless said work is necessary due to an emergency. In the event of an emergency, Employee shall notify Employer of the number of hours worked in connection with such emergency no later than the next business day. For purposes of this Agreement, “emergency” means a sudden, urgent, usually unexpected occurrence or occasion requiring immediate action. Employee further acknowledges and agrees that if, during any particular workweek and only after obtaining advance approval from Employer, he or she works more hours than stated in Section 5 of this Agreement, Employee will record these excess hours on his or her timesheet. Employee agrees not to perform Duties under this Agreement for more than eight (8) hours on any day or twenty (20) hours during any workweek without prior authorization from Employer.

Employee shall use the timesheet form provided by Employer to record all hours worked on a daily basis. Employee agrees to submit the completed form to Employer on a weekly basis at the time and in the manner directed by Employer. Employee acknowledges that failure to comply with this requirement may result in disciplinary action by Employer, up to and including termination, and termination of this Agreement.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
Customer service experience and experience in campground hosting and public outdoor recreational settings is preferred.
LICENSES AND LICENSE REQUIREMENTS:

Must be 18 years or older.
Must possess a valid US State issued Driver’s License, with a safe driving history.

Upon a contingent offer of employment, driving and background checks will be completed, along with the required pre-employment drug testing.
