DESCRIPTION

Volunteer Activities• Campground Host • Construction/Maintenance • Conservation Education • Trail/Campground Maintenance • Visitor Information • Fish/Wildlife • General Assistance Photo Courtesy of FS DescriptionCamphosting is the premier volunteer oppurtunity within the National Forest system.  Here on the Calaveras Ranger District of the Stanislaus Natiuonal Forest, we have many camphost positions open for the 2020 season (Memorial Day to Labor Day).  All camphost spaces are “unimproved”.  Some have communal water, and a few have dump tanks.  We do accept tents but prefer an RV for camphost comfort.  Camphosting consists of campground maintenance (bathrooms and common areas), site upkeep (fire rings, litter, picnic table maint etc..), visitor contact (education), incidence reporting and Recreation Technician communication. It is rewarding, peaceful and fun. Pets and children are OK. There may be a small reimbursement available depending on funding. Camphosting is fun and rewarding. The Calaveras Ranger District in the Sierras just north of Yosemite National Park is one of the prettiest place on the planet to work and play. Please call Keith at  209 795-1381 and lets talk about the season ahead. HOUSING & AMENITIESType: Camp SitesDescription: RV’s are preferred for camphosts at our campsites but a tent is acceptable.
