DESCRIPTION

Volunteer Activities• Campground Host Photo Courtesy of BLM DescriptionLocated at the junction of Edson Creek and Sixes River, Edson Creek Recreation Site provides 27 campsites and four reservable group sites in an open meadow setting. The Sixes River site provides 19 campsites in a forested hideaway along Sixes River. Both sites offer enjoyable opportunities for camping, picnicking, fishing, swimming, and wildlife viewing.  The closest town of Port Orford is approximately 10 miles from Edson Creek Campground. It is a full service community with a population of about 1,100. http://www.portorford.org. Host must be able to perform required duties with minimal supervision, communicate effectively with diverse audiences, and present a consistently friendly and helpful attitude. Duties/Expectations: – Welcome guests to Edson Creek Campground – Maintain sites and facilities at both campgrounds and day use areas – Be available to provide firewood for guests – Willing to work 38 hours per week including Saturday, Sunday, and holidays – Desire to speak to guests A full hook up RV site and  propane is provided for volunteers. Must have a fully self-contained RV (picture required). No laundry facilities available on site. Two pet maximum, proof of vaccination, & dogs must be leashed at all times. Must have own vehicle for personal use. Must have personal vehicle for cleaning both campgrounds. Volunteers are required to pass a background check and will be accepted upon successful completion. Ability to communicate and interact with others in a friendly, helpful manner is a must in this highly visible position. HOUSING & AMENITIESType: Trailer/RV Pads
