Job Description

If you like sailboats, saunas & starry nights,

If you like a little wine, rocking chairs & wrap around porches,

If you like campfires, the sound of crickets & deep sleep,

If you like getting up early, going offline & getting outdoors,

then you will love Silverlaken!

Located in Western NY, the Silverlaken Estate, Glampground & Tiny House Village (www.Silverlaken.com) is a boutique vacation rental business on the shores of Silver Lake servicing tourists visiting Letchworth State Park- voted “Best State Park” in America.

While the Glampground is the flagship enterprise, this family owned & operated business includes an art gallery, kayak rental agency, gift shop & sailing club.

The tourism season starts in late Spring and runs until the first freeze arrives in late Fall.  July, August and October are the 3 busiest months.  Camp is closed during the off-season.

The ideal candidates would be a retired couple interested in performing the following tasks in exchange for a seasonal site at Camp:

  • Welcoming guests as they arrive at Camp
  • Serving as the friendly face at the front desk of the camp, gift shop, kayak rental agency or art gallery
  • Creating content for our Social Media Platforms
  • Remotely monitoring our Customer Service Portals to assist with booking inquiries & guest relations
  • Double checking the work of the housekeeping staff
  • Stock-keeping in the supply room and gift store

You will fit right in if you are the kind of person that you can strike up a conversation with a stranger, sail a catamaran, start a campfire, remove a fish hook and post on social media.

Camp infrastructure will be made available for your personal use, including but not limited to:

  • sauna
  • kayaks, SUP & paddleboat
  • various sailboats
  • 200HP double decker pontoon boat (reasonable use, boaters safety course required)
  • campfires & BBQ grills

If you wish to have a break from your RV, vacant rental units may be available for your use.

If you are interested in monetary compensation beyond the work-exchange, know that the following tasks can be compensated at a pre-agreed rate:

  • Housekeeping
  • Laundry Room
  • Yard Work
  • Repairs & Maintenance
  • Odd Jobs

Are you an Artist? Do you Sail?

We also offer two very unique money-making opportunities if you happen to be an artist or sailor.

Would you like to be a featured artist and have your work sold on commission at our downtown gallery?

Our small fleet of Sunfish and Hobie Cats sit on dry land as our sailing instructor has retired.   Customers often inquire about sailing instruction and we would welcome the opportunity to rent the boats to the customer while they pay you directly for training and/or captain services. Booking platform, payment processing, insurance and infrastructure are already in place.  Just missing the sailing instructor.

Visit www.Silverlaken.com to learn more about the opportunity.

Thank you for your interest in joining our team!
