Job Description
Volunteer Camp Host position at Makoshika State Park (https://fwp.mt.gov/stateparks/makoshika) with a monthly stipend of $100 and a free RV site for the 2025 season. Inquire at Stateparkvolunteers@mt.gov , or contact the park manager directly for details including the application process.
Duties:
Volunteer duties include but are not limited to:
· Daily interactions with campers and visitors to the campground that include regional recreational opportunities and campground regulations
· Daily campground fee compliance
· Daily campsite maintenance duties
· Monitoring facilities and campground to ensure visitor safety
· Report any incidents or hazards to the direct supervisor,
Location:
Makoshika State Park is Montana’s largest state park that features badland formations and the fossil remains of Tyrannosaurus Rex, Triceratops, and other prehistoric life. Included in the park are scenic drives, hiking trails, 28 camping sites, a group picnic area, and an outdoor amphitheater. This park is situated on the outskirts of Glendive and is an hour from Miles City.
Schedule:
The schedule is flexible and is determined by the park manager.
