Volunteer Camp Host

Volunteer Camp Host position at Cooney State Park (https://fwp.mt.gov/stateparks/cooney) with a monthly stipend of $100 and a free RV site for the 2025 season. Inquire at Stateparkvolunteers@mt.gov , or contact the park manager directly for details including the application process.

Duties:

Volunteer duties include but are not limited to:

·         Daily interactions with campers and visitors to the campground that include regional recreational opportunities and campground regulations

·         Daily campground fee compliance

·         Daily campsite maintenance duties

·         Monitoring facilities and campground to ensure visitor safety

·         Report any incidents or hazards to the direct supervisor,

Location:

Cooney State Park is the most popular recreation area serving south-central Montana featuring excellent walleye and rainbow trout fishing, boating, water-skiing, and scenic mountain views. The park has five campgrounds with 82 campsites and 3 group use areas. The park is situated an hour southwest of Billings.

Schedule:

The schedule is flexible and is determined by the park manager.
