Volunteer Camp Host

Volunteer Camp Host position at Black Sandy State Park (https://fwp.mt.gov/stateparks/black-sandy) with a monthly stipend of $100 and a free RV site for the 2025 season. Inquire at Stateparkvolunteers@mt.gov , or contact the park manager directly for details including the application process.

Duties:

Volunteer duties include but are not limited to:

·         Daily interactions with campers and visitors to the campground that include regional recreational opportunities and campground regulations

·         Daily campground fee compliance

·         Daily campsite maintenance duties

·         Monitoring facilities and campground to ensure visitor safety

·         Report any incidents or hazards to the direct supervisor,

Location:

Black Sandy State Park is a popular campground that provides access for boating, water-skiing, walleye and trout fishing, and other water activities. The site has 29 campsites with electricity, one tent site that can be reserved, and 5 tent sites without electricity that are first-come first-served. Maximum trailer length is 35 feet. The park is situated about 30 minutes from Helena along the shores of the Hauser Reservoir, which is part of the Missouri River.

The schedule is flexible and is determined by the park manager.
