Job Description
Volunteer Summer Host/Caretaker position at Frenchtown Pond State Park (fwp.mt.gov/stateparks/frenchtown-pond) with a monthly stipend of $100 and a free RV site for the 2025 season. Inquire at Stateparkvolunteers@mt.gov , or contact the park manager directly for details including the application process. Note that pets are not permitted at this location.
Duties:
Volunteer duties include but are not limited to:
· Daily interactions with visitors to the state park,
· Caretaking duties,
· Report any incidents or hazards to the direct supervisor,
Location:
Frenchtown State Park is located 17 miles west of Missoula on I-90. It was established in 1972 and in the generations since, the park, and its 18-acre pond, has been a popular site for picnics, swimming and paddling sports as well as four-season fishing for bass, perch and hatchery trout. It’s a high-quality outdoor education resource, where thousands of kids have participated in Hooked on Fishing, ice fishing clinics and Junior Ranger programs. As a venue for many family, school, church and local events, Frenchtown Pond State Park serves as thread in the fabric of community life in the Frenchtown, West Valley and greater Missoula area.
