Job Description
We are seeking a motivated and reliable couple with restaurant experience to join our team at The Minnow Trap Grill and Yacht Club Bar, the only restaurant on Sapelo Island. This unique opportunity offers a chance to work together in a close-knit, beautiful island setting. Our restaurant is open 4 days a week, allowing for a relaxed work-life balance. The ideal couple will be enthusiastic about providing excellent service, preparing delicious meals, and ensuring guests have an unforgettable dining experience.
Sapelo Island is a 16,000-acre barrier island located off the coast of Georgia. Sapelo Island has beautiful uncrowded beaches that provide great shelling and fishing. The island also provides opportunities for bird watching, biking, and kayaking. The island is also home to several herds of wild cattle, deer, and hogs.
There is a ferry for transporting people daily. The restaurant will provide the barge service to transport an RV and truck to the island. We will provide full RV hook up to include water, sewer, power and internet. Meals will be provided while working along with an hourly pay plus tips. We are looking for at least a 6-month commitment.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Server (both individuals may rotate between roles):
Greet and seat customers with a warm, friendly attitude.
Take and deliver customer orders promptly and accurately.
Ensure excellent customer service throughout guests’ dining experience.
Handle payments using the POS system and process cash/credit card transactions.
Assist with cleaning and maintaining the dining area.
Help set up and clean down at the start and end of service.
As a Cook (both individuals may rotate between roles):
Prepare and cook food according to the menu and recipes.
Ensure food quality, taste, and presentation meet restaurant standards.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area.
Follow all health and food safety regulations.
Assist with prepping ingredients as needed for future service.
Help with inventory management to ensure food stock is always adequate.
As a Bartender (both individuals may rotate between roles):
Mix and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
Maintain a clean and organized bar area.
Provide friendly and professional service at the bar.
Ensure proper inventory levels of bar supplies and ingredients.
Ensure all customers are of legal drinking age (ID checks).
Process payments accurately and efficiently.
Requirements:
Previous restaurant experience in serving, cooking, or bartending is a bonus.
Ability to work independently and as a team.
A positive, friendly attitude and exceptional customer service skills.
Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a small, busy environment.
Must be flexible and willing to rotate between different roles (server, cook, bartender).
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as part of a 4-day work week schedule.
Food Handler and Bartender’s License certifications are a plus but not required.

Schedule: Open 4 days a week (Wednesday lunch, Thursday – Saturday lunch and dinner).
