Do you love to meet new people? Do you love the outdoors? Do you love to fish? Then this is the volunteer opportunity for you! Volunteer Opportunity: Carbella Recreation Site is a semi-primitive campground located in Emigrant, MT on BLM land approximately 18 miles north of Gardiner, MT and to the entrance of Yellowstone National Park. It is located along the beautiful Yellowstone River. The campsite is a popular location for campers, rafters, and fishermen especially with the boat ramp. The major duty includes maintaining 5 campsites with fire pits, picnic tables and 1 vault toilet. Stay limit for campers is 14 days. All campsites are available on a first-come, first-served basis. There are no fees for the public at this site. Benefits: An amazing location near Yellowstone National Park. Wildlife is abundant. Volunteers will be provided BLM shirts, a hat and a nametag. Incidental cleaning supplies, maintenance equipment, and tools will be provided by the BLM. For each day volunteered, you will receive $15 per day for reimbursement. General Host Duties: Be a courteous, professional and friendly campground host. Provide visitors information about the area, rules and regulations. Assist with site maintenance. Volunteers are asked to clean the restoom daily on their work days and to provide routine maintenance where needed. Working Hours: The volunteer will work a minimum of 4 days in each 7-day period. Schedule will be coordinated with the Volunteer Coordinator. Working hours are flexible. Volunteers are expected to work weekends and holidays since this is when the peak activity occurs. The campground is open year-round, but we only ask volunteers to be there from May through September. Background Check: A background check will be required prior to serving as a campground host. Training: Volunteers will be required to attend a mandatory volunteer orientation. Volunteer will receive orientation regarding the rules and regulations of the BLM, the site, and the volunteer program. Housing: The host shall provide their own RV or camper trailer.
