DESCRIPTION:

Seeking to fill 1 Maintenance Positions for Granger Lake from 05/01/2023 thru 10/31/2023

·      The primary duty of the maintenance volunteer is to assist the lake staff with everyday maintenance duties.  The position is required to work a minimum of 20 hours a week. Volunteers will work Monday through Friday as scheduled with the volunteer coordinator. The volunteer will be required to provide their own transportation as needed. Projected mileage per month will vary by area but is projected to be low. This position will report to the volunteer coordinator but may be supervised by other staff members as duties occur.

 

DUTIES

·      Conduct routine maintenance and projects in recreation and wildlife management areas. Duties to include but not limited to painting, carpentry, electrical, plumbing, landscaping, trail maintenance, using various power tools and equipment. Clean and maintain storage and shop areas. Conduct inventories of supplies and service and maintain equipment. Conduct other various duties as needed.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

·       Volunteer with electrical and/or plumbing certifications preferred. Volunteer must possess the ability to work well and deal with all types of people. They must be friendly and always represent professionalism in their duties. Volunteers must be able to effectively work with other volunteers, staff, and contractors. Volunteers should know how to use hand and power tools as well as landscaping and lawn equipment. Volunteers are required to provide their own licensed transportation with insurance and fuel, to get to project office for materials and assignments.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Working alone as well as with teams including project Staff. Work will occur primarily in park areas but may also include wildlife and agricultural areas. Most work will occur outdoors independent from lake staff.
