Job Description

Position Type: Part-Time (20 hours weekly)

Job Overview: High Falls County Park is seeking a dedicated Camp Host to serve as a representative of the Park Service, ensuring a positive experience for campers and other park visitors. The Camp Host will be responsible for providing assistance, information, and maintaining the overall quality of the campground and park facilities. This position is part-time, with the option for hours to be split between spouses or partners. High Falls County Park is a 47 acre campground located on beautiful Lake Keowee.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Be available to campers to render assistance and provide information.
  • Ensure facilities and grounds are well-maintained for camper and visitor satisfaction.
  • Maintain a model campsite, strictly adhering to park rules and regulations.
  • Uphold a non-partisan appearance of the campsite at all times.

Typical Duties:

  • Provide information to campers and visitors about the park, its operation, and the surrounding area.
  • Offer general assistance to campers and act as the primary contact point between staff and visitors.
  • Monitor and report problems to park staff, ensuring timely resolution.
  • Check facilities for maintenance issues and provide information to staff.
  • Participate in program activities if qualified.
  • Perform routine custodial and maintenance activities on grounds and facilities, such as cleaning bath houses.
  • Undertake specialized maintenance activities based on training and experience.
  • Assist with administrative duties, including handling park monetary funds (subject to approval and successful completion of a SLED criminal background check).

Qualifications:

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
    Ability to work independently and collaboratively with park staff.
  • Knowledge of park rules and regulations.
  • Willingness to perform routine maintenance and custodial tasks.
  • Previous experience in camping or park hosting is a plus.
