WORK ENVIRONMENT
Nestled in a small canyon on the edge of the town of Spearfish, the D.C. Booth Historic National Fish Hatchery is a beautiful setting. Volunteers work individually in their assignments but teamwork and communication are essential. Typically, a schedule of 3 days on, 3 days off is followed; volunteers are allowed to trade shifts with fellow volunteers. A campsite is provided in Volunteer Village located in the nearby Spearfish City Campground; campsites are right next to Spearfish Creek. Internet service is spotty in the campground. Spearfish City Campground rules will apply to all campers in Volunteer Village.
