Job Description

Seeking to fill a Maintenance volunteer position at our Buck Creek campground from April 12, 2021 – October 1, 2021.

Rathbun Lake is looking for Seasonal Park Maintenance Volunteers to perform light duty maintenance and resource management work items in our park areas on a very flexible schedule. We are looking for energetic applicants that would love to work in a campground setting, with no weekend work. Examples of light duty maintenance work include picnic table board replacement, staining and painting of facilities, light carpentry work. Resource management examples include removal of tree suckers and trimming of tree limbs. Recreation examples include shoreline and park area litter pickup, bulletin board material posting, and sign installation. All required supplies and tools will be provided by the Corps. of Engineers. A UTV will be provided onsite. We require our volunteers to work only 20 hours a week. This position comes with a full hookup campsite. (50 amp electrical, water and sewer hookups)

DUTIES

Include upkeep and general maintenance of park facilities such as: playgrounds, campsites, trails and natural areas. This position also requires inspecting facilities for repair needs, repairing picnic tables, painting, mowing, weed eating, and any other small maintenance tasks. Position requires attention to detail, basic knowledge of power tools, positive and energetic attitude as well as good communication skills.
