Job Description

The Buffet Safety Monitor is responsible for ensuring safety measures are followed for buffet service. Provides friendly and courteous guidance for guests while ensuring compliance with current guidelines and standards.

This is a seasonal part-time position ending January 2022.

WORKAMPER ELIGIBLE

Responsibilities

1. Fully understand and support Xanterra Mission Statement and Core Values.

2. Provides prompt, attentive and courteous service to dining room guests at all times in accordance with unit policies on guest service.

3. Greets guests as they approach the buffet line and guide them to follow safety protocols. Ensuring use of hand sanitizer and/or use of latex gloves.

4. Ensures proper stock of hand sanitizer and gloves are available at all times. .

5. Follows current protocols and standards Fred Harvey Restaurant and Xanterra Parks & Resorts.

6. Cleans and sanitizes the buffet line as time permits.

7. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

· Must be at least 16 years of age or older

 

Preferred Qualifications:

· Previous experience in a guest facing position preferably in the hospitality industry.

· Ability to communicate clearly and effectively to guests, co-workers, and management.

 

Basic Competencies:

· Verbal comprehension (Understand oral and written communications, follow detailed directions).

· Communication skills (provide clear instructions/directions)

· Reasoning skills (problem solving and troubleshooting skills)

 

Employment Conditions:

· Work safely to prevent on the job accidents and injuries.

· Work in inclement restaurant conditions.

· Work safely to ensure company equipment is secure.

· Wear protective equipment as required by the job duties.

· Work hours may include a nonstandard workweek, overtime, and various shift work as needed.

 

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is:

· Constantly standing, walking, handling, wrist motion, bending/ stooping.

· Frequently carrying, bending, stooping, lifting, pushing, and pulling items weighing up to 10lbs.

· Occasionally carrying, bending, stooping, lifting, pushing, and pulling items weighing up to 10lbs.

· Constantly listening, hearing, seeing, and speaking.

· Will be required to stand and walk for long periods of time on cement floors and to occasionally walk on uneven surfaces.
