DESCRIPTION:

Looking for 3 couples to fill the Park Host positions from May 5, 2023 – Sept 6, 2023.

This is a two-person job. At the start Hosts will need to clean gatehouse and picnic tables in the campground. Then one will operate the gatehouse where no money will exchange hands. All reservations are made on-line. Gatehouse host will run reports off Recreation One Stop program, post incoming tags, and answer questions. Second person will clean campsites, pick up trash, run the chlorine water test and give reminders to campers of the rules. You will work two days on and four days off. When you’re on duty that includes being on call throughout the night.

 

 

DUTIES
· Beginning of season clean gatehouse and campground picnic tables

· Open gate at 6am and close gate 10:00pm

· On call throughout the night

· Check campers in

· Post tags/clean tags

· Run reports

· Clean campsites / pick up trash

· Inform rules to campers

· Chlorine water test

· Record lost and found items

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS
· Desire to work 2 days on (10hrs/day) and 4 days off and live in a natural outdoor setting, with your own RV.

· Desire to meet and interact with people from varied backgrounds.

· Appearance should be neat and reflect positively on the Corps.

· Ability to remain calm in busy situations.

· Physical ability to lift 30 pounds and carry for 25 feet and work in the heat.

· Visually able to spot safety hazards and take prompt appropriate action to correct in accordance with training provided.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
· This position takes place outdoors and may require extended periods during adverse conditions such as heat, cold, and rain. Volunteers are expected to have the ability to work independently but can work with other volunteers and USACE staff.
