Guest Ranch Host

Badlands Heritage Guest Ranch is seeking to contract with a Guest Ranch Host for our 2024 season, which runs from May 15th to October 31st. Our intention is to form a strong working relationship with an individual(s) that leverages their unique skill sets, personality, and knowledge so that we can provide guests with an exceptional and memorable experience. The ideal situation would be where the Guest Ranch Host stays in their RV onsite for a significant portion of the season and fulfills certain agreed upon areas of work. However, all terms of the contract, including duration, responsibilities, and compensation are negotiable.

That being said, here are potential areas of work where we could use help:

Customer Service – This area of work will include checking in and checking out guests, answering questions, and addressing concerns posed by guests. It will likely include processing reservations and handling monetary transactions. Ideal candidates will naturally have a friendly and outgoing personality and enjoy interfacing with a variety of people.

Cleaning – The primary objective in this area of work will be to ensure a clean and tidy environment within various facilities in order to create an enjoyable experience for ranch guests. Regular cleaning of the office, shower house facility, and camping cabins will be included. As a regenerative ranch, we use products and processes that reduce and eliminate trash generation and toxic chemicals from entering the environment. Ideal candidates will have an excellent eye for detail and possess a hardworking attitude. Prior experience in commercial cleaning a plus.

Groundskeeping – The primary objective in this area of work will be to ensure a clean and tidy outdoor environment in order to create an enjoyable experience for ranch guests. It will include trash clean up, mowing, trimming, watering, and weed control. As a regenerative ranch, we use products and processes that reduce and eliminate trash generation and toxic chemicals from entering the environment. Ideal candidates will enjoy working outside, have an excellent eye for detail, and possess a hardworking attitude. Knowledge of landscaping and/or gardening a plus.

Maintenance & Repair – This area of work will be comprised of maintenance and possibly minor repairs to ensure the infrastructure and facilities on the ranch are functioning properly. Typical tasks could potentially include replacing facia on a building, repairing picnic tables, fixing a leaky faucet, or unclogging a toilet. Ideal candidates will enjoy problem solving and have the ability to quickly adapt and develop effective solutions. General working knowledge of carpentry, electrical, and plumbing are a plus.

Regenerative Agriculture – This area of work will mainly consist of working alongside ranch owners to operate the regenerative agriculture aspect of our business. Regular interaction with goats, chickens, cows, dogs, and horses will be included. Typical tasks could include setting up polywire fence, moving livestock, animal husbandry, or building corals. The ideal candidate will enjoy physical team work in an outdoor setting, have the ability to think outside the box and quickly adapt to different situations, and strive for continuous learning.
