JOB DESCRIPTION:
Seeking to fill multiple volunteer positions at Belton Lake. Looking for motivated volunteers who can commit to a full summer recreational season (March – October) or 1 year working in camping or day use parks at Belton Lake. The position requires a minimum of 24 hours per week in exchange for a campsite in the park.
· The primary duty of this volunteer position is to maintain park areas in the best possible condition and to provide visitors with an enjoyable experience. Volunteer must be friendly, outgoing, and enjoys helping others.
A total of 24 hours a week is required for RV site with full hookups (electric, water and sewer).
Volunteers must be able to work in all weather conditions, hold a valid driver’s license, and be available holidays and weekends. The volunteer will be required to provide their own transportation. This position will report to the volunteer coordinator but may be supervised by other staff members as duties occur.
Volunteer duties vary depending on the park, but may include: Campground Coordination, Entrance Booth Attendant, Issuing ATB and Corps Passes, Visitor Assistance and Public Relations, Restroom Policing, Litter Pick-up, Minor Maintenance and Other Duties as assigned.
Description Qualifications:
o Volunteers are required to provide their own licensed transportation with insurance and fuel, for any duties that they may need it for.
o The volunteer will be required to provide their own living quarters, RV must be presentable, registered, titled and road worthy. Volunteer should be able to work in park areas in hot and cold weather conditions.
o Applicants are required to commit to six months of volunteer service minimum
o Some maintenance experience (preferred)
o Some computer skill experience (preferred)
