Work Camper

This is a seasonal position.  We will contract for 3, 6, 9 or 12 months. Willing to extend with manager approval.

We are hiring multiple work camping positions at Black Canyon Ranch RV Resort in Black Canyon City, Arizona. Black Canyon Ranch RV Resort is a close-knit RV and park model community in Black Canyon City, Arizona. Black Canyon City offers many recreational activities for nature lovers. Sedona, Jerome and Prescott are just an hour to the north, and downtown Phoenix is a short 45-mile drive to the south. You can be at the Grand Canyon in under 3 hours. We’re centrally located to a large number of day trip opportunities for adventure and exploration! At Black Canyon Ranch RV Resort, you’ll enjoy cool desert evenings and invigorating sunny days. With more than 310 days of sun each year, you’ll have ample opportunity to explore the best that Arizona has to offer. While it does get hot in Black Canyon City, we’re 8-10° cooler than Phoenix and rarely see below freezing nights in the winter – it’s the best of both worlds.

Black Canyon Ranch RV Resort has held a 10/10*/10 Good Sam rating for 10 years in a row. We are a 107-site facility that is at 100% capacity most of the year. The resort has been under new management since June 2023 and the managers have worked to foster a culture of community. We offer many opportunities for events and activities and our staff are encouraged to participate as well.

Each 30 hour position can be worked as a couple or a single.  If you are a couple, you will work a similar schedule with the same days off for a consistent schedule. You don’t have to have work camping experience or experience working in an RV park to apply. Black Canyon Ranch RV Resort is a good place to learn about all facets of resort work. Our corporation owns multiple parks, so there are opportunities for advancement within the organization or transfers to other parks. Workcampers must live on-site, and you must have your own self-contained RV.

Compensation Package Work Camper:

Wage: $14.70/hr for every hour worked.

Reduced Rate Site: Deluxe site measuring 50’X30’ @ $600 ($900/month value) This is better than the typical work 20-28 hours for a site, just 12 hours of work a week pays for the site. The rest goes into your pocket. Take home pay will depend on how you fill out your tax forms, our current camp workers take home $400/pay period.

Electricity: 50/30/20 Pedestal. Electric is paid by employee but you receive a $60 electricity credit each month.

Provided Employee Amenities: Laundry, high-speed internet (fiber optic internet is installed at your site), cable, water, trash, and sewer.

Park Amenities: Heated pool, spa, horseshoe pits, corn hole, weekly games, regular gatherings for meals, park outings, craft activities, monthly movie nights, and more!

Work Camper Position Details: As a work camper you’ll perform various tasks related to keeping the resort running smooth, clean and safe. We have two primary roles for work campers.  Office/Cleaning or Maintenance.  As a work camper you will support management in all aspects of maintaining the property along with serving as an ambassador of the resort with residents/guests to ensure a quality experience at the Ranch.
