DESCRIPTION:

Volunteer Campground Hosts: Facilitate visitors’ stay at the beautiful Curly Jack Campground along the Klamath Wild and Scenic (Recreational) River.

The Klamath National Forest is a recreational gem for fishing (Salmon and Steelhead), hiking, white water sports and so much more. We have volunteer campground host positions available at Curly Jack Campground, located in Happy Camp, CA along the Klamath Wild and Scenic (Recreational) River. Cell reception is available through some carriers, and a FS radio will be provided. Amenities within the town include a grocery store, laundromat, post office, and gas station.

These positions are full time and we ask that volunteers work on Saturday & Sunday. Host duties include talking to visitors about local points of interest, informing visitors of regulations, and performing maintenance and cleanup around the campground. Camp Hosts will not be required to handle any law enforcement issues. All violations can be reported to the district office and law enforcement will be contacted.

The campground season is from mid-May to Mid-October. Shorter commitments may be considered but a period of at least four consecutive weeks is requested.

Local staff will provide training and support in duties. Hosts perform duties independently without direct supervision. Staff will make regular contact to provide support, heavy maintenance and regulatory compliance. Host may receive per diem reimbursement for days worked, and an RV pad with hookups will be provided. We are looking for hosts who have strong communication skills, are customer service-oriented and love being in a beautiful area!
