Position Title: Campgrounds Keeper
Job Summary:
The Groundskeeper is responsible for the comprehensive upkeep of Camp Impact’s outdoor areas. This role demands a hands-on approach to ensure our grounds are not only visually appealing but also safe and conducive to the camp’s activities and spiritual mission.

Key Responsibilities:
Lawn and Turf Management:
Execute regular mowing to maintain optimal grass height and health.
Implement seasonal turf care, including fertilization, aeration, and overseeding.
Perform edging along walkways, buildings, and garden beds for a crisp appearance.
Manage lawn hydration through systematic watering and irrigation maintenance. Always auditing plants to make sure they are getting water and looking at the sprinkler system to make sure it is working properly.
Gardening and Landscaping:
Design and plant annual and perennial flower arrangements in garden beds.
Conduct routine weeding, pruning, and deadheading to ensure plant health.
Apply mulch to garden areas to conserve moisture and enhance soil quality.
Select and care for trees and shrubs, considering seasonal color and growth patterns.
Weed and Pest Control:
Regularly inspect grounds for weeds and unwanted growth, removing them mechanically or through safe herbicide application.
Implement natural pest control methods to maintain a healthy and eco-friendly environment.
Utilize trimming tools for precise weed control in delicate areas.
Facilities and Pathways Maintenance:
Maintain cleanliness and safety of pathways, ensuring clear and accessible routes.
Conduct regular inspections and repairs of outdoor furniture and fixtures.
Paint and stain wooden structures as needed to preserve and enhance their appearance.
Manage the upkeep of recreational areas, including sports fields and playgrounds.
Seasonal and Special Projects:
Prepare the camp for different seasons with specific tasks like leaf removal in fall and snow clearance in winter.
Assist in setting up and dismantling event spaces for camp activities.
Engage in special landscaping projects to enhance the camp’s aesthetic appeal.
Participate in environmental sustainability initiatives, like composting and recycling.
