Job Description
Conservation Collier is seeking a volunteer campground host (single or couple) for our beautiful Pepper Ranch Preserve located in SW Florida for the months of October 2025 to April 2026. This 2,700+ acre preserve is a working cattle ranch and has miles of hiking, horseback riding & mountain biking trails to explore. A true nature lover paradise!
Volunteer hours required are 15-20 hours per week; RV space is a full hook-up concrete pad site (electric, water & sewer). Your RV must be self-contained and in good condition, age of the RV is not an issue. Laundry facilities are provided on-site for the camp host to use. With the abundance of wildlife that call the preserve home, pets will not be allowed.
Typical camp host duties:
- Check in/out weekend campers & preserve visitors
- Watch over the 10-site tent and group campground
- Clean tent/group site before and after campers arrive/leave (if needed)
- Clean fire pits once per week or as needed
- Inspect picnic tables for safety & cleanliness once per week or as needed
- Check restrooms with showers for supplies and spot clean when needed
- Assist with maintaining a short hiking trail near the 10-site campground (training will be provided)
- Keep sidewalks clear of vegetation at the Visitor Center (as needed)
- Report any maintenance/repair issue to the Preserve Land Manager or Park Ranger
You will have time to explore the surrounding communities of Immokalee, Naples & Ft Myers. The gulf beaches are located within an hour drive of the preserve.
