Job Description
A camp ground host position is available at Pepper Ranch Preserve located in beautiful south Florida. The preserve is a 2,700-acres located at 6315 Pepper Ranch Road in Immokalee, Florida and managed by Conservation Collier. This is a volunteer opportunity that offers a free FHU campsite for your well-maintained RV throughout the winter season, October 2024 through April 2025, in exchange for 25 service hours for a single person or 40 service hours for a couple per week. Campground host will provide the following:
- Preserve guest check in and guest check out at the visitor center
- Watch over the 10-site campground and a group campsite
- Camper check in on Friday & Saturday nights
- Camper check out on Sunday
- Light custodial duties
- Provide information about the preserve to guests
- Report maintenance issues
- Clean campsites before and after campers arrive and leave
- Light trail maintenance
In addition to the FHU campsite, we provide our host with training by the Conservation Collier team on all equipment, guest procedures, uniform (t-shirt, hat), laundry facilities and workers’ compensation insurance should an injury occur while performing duties.
We ask that hosts give full attention to their volunteer effort by not accepting employment outside the preserve Friday-Sunday. A minimum 6-month stay is required and may be extended to 9 months total. Dogs are not allowed due to the abundance of wildlife that live on the preserve.
