This live on-site position has flexibility depending on your skills and may also include some grounds maintenance and camp-hosting. We are seeking two new team members.
Check out Bright Star Campground near Mesa Verde Nat’l Park and just 5 miles to downtown Cortez, CO where there are grocery stores, Walmart, Restaurants, a Hospital, etc. We are just 2 hours from Moab and 1.5 hours to Telluride and 45 min to Durango. We are a small family-owned and operated business. This is the heart of the Southwest!
This popular campground has a variety of accommodations such as furnished Tipis, Camping Cabins, a House, a Hogan, Tent & a few RV Sites. There are a total of 26 sites. We also have free laundry for our staff!
We are looking for a Housekeeper, Grounds Maintenance and part-time Hosting help. We are flexible in that we need two people for these jobs and they can be hired individually or as a couple. We also have a management/camp host couple that will live on-site.
We have an RV space with 30 AMP but we do not know yet if our full hookup space with water & sewer will be available. For the site with just electric, the bathrooms are close and we have two shower houses with hot water on demand. There is also a big campground kitchen with everything you should need to cook, and a big staff-only fridge/freezer.
If you do not have an RV, we have a “camping cabin” option for a single person. It also shares the same amenities. It is a basic structure with a nice bed but no bathroom inside.
We offer a base pay minus an allowance for the accommodations. Depending on the number of staff members we have, that pay will range from $250 – $450 per week + accommodations.
This position is primarily for housekeeping and general cleaning of the campground buildings. Depending on the person, it may include some groundskeeping and maintenance. It will also include 1-2 evenings on Camp Host duty. Because this is a Hospitality business, a clean and well-groomed appearance is always required. You will be interacting with guests. Background checks and references are also required. A perfect history is not required but certain standards must be met.
This is 30 – 40 hours per week for one person or if you are applying as a duo or team to share a space (RV space or cabin) it will be 25 – 40 hours each and 5-6 days a week with flexibility on some days and we also have some scheduled days that the campground is closed this season. The season is from April 20 – Oct 15.
