JOB DESCRIPTION:

Falls is a semi-primitive campground (partial hookups) with 56 well-maintained sites approximately 23 miles west of Dubois, WY. The campground consists of two loops with 21 sites in Loop A providing electrical hookups and Loop B providing no hookups, each of which is in need of a host. The campground is located within close proximity to US Hwy 26/287, which is the direct route to both Grand Teton National Park and the South Entrance of Yellowstone National Park. Beautiful scenery, Brooks Lake Creek Falls and abundant wildlife can be found within the footprint of the campground.

 

Host opportunities typically run from approximately early June through mid-September. Hosts volunteer five days a week, including weekends and holidays, typically working 4-5 hours per day. Hosts are on duty in the morning and evening, during daylight hours. Days off are taken mid-week on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.  Hosts are not required to stay on site during their days off. Start/end dates and schedules are negotiable.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Educates visitors about rules and regulations of the campground and Forest (quiet hours, occupant limit, fire restrictions, food storage, stay limits, leash law, etc.). 
  • Cleans and maintains restrooms, fire rings, and grounds.
  • Logs daily campsite occupancy information.
  • Communicates professionally with visitors; affinity for engaging with the public is required.
  • Reports serious violations of regulations to the Forest Service point of contact or Law Enforcement as warranted.  

DUTIES: 

  • Cleans vault restrooms daily (cleaning toilet riser, restocking toilet paper, and sweeping and mopping floor).  
  • Picks up litter during daily walk-through of campgrounds.
  • Cleans out fire rings/campsites as needed. 
  • Reports all major maintenance needs, vandalism, and other problems. 
  • Assists Forest Service staff with maintenance at campground as needed (weed eating, painting, etc.).
  • Educates and informs visitors regarding the area and recreational opportunities in addition to rules and regulations of the Forest.

 QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Ability and desire to interact extensively with visitors. 
  • Upbeat and positive attitude. 
  • Willingness to clean and maintain restrooms, picnic sites, campsites, etc.  
  • Past campground host experience is helpful, but not required. Training will be provided by the Forest Service. 
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license. 
  • Must have and maintain a functioning personal vehicle. 
  • Must provide their own RV or camp trailer.

  • Dedicated host campsite
    • Loop A- Full Hookups (water, sewer, electrical, phone)
    • Loop B- Partial Hookups (electrical)
  • Weekly water deliveries to RV/camp trailer
  • Propane
  • All required cleaning products and supplies
  • Partial host uniform
