This position is based in High Island where Houston Audubon owns and manages four sanctuaries and a Coastal Native Plant Nursery.
RV Caretakers will join our Coastal Staff and strong cohort of volunteers in maintaining these world-renowned bird and wildlife sanctuaries. Coastal Staff also live on-site and will serve as points-of-contact and support to volunteers.
Volunteers can expect to work 20-25 hours per week assisting with monitoring sanctuaries, grounds keeping, mowing and gardening, some building and equipment maintenance, sharing information about our bird sanctuaries with visitors, and more!
The Coop features RV hookups (Water/Sewer/Electric 30/50 amp), showers, a laundry facility, and an outdoor picnic pavilion to make your volunteer experience convenient and comfortable.
