JOB DESCRIPTION:

Fort Bowie is excited to recruit volunteers for our 2024/25 season. Visitor Services Volunteers support the interpretive operations at the park by engaging with visitors and helping them to connect with the park and its resources.

Volunteer work will be completed both indoors and outdoors. Training and orientation will be provided. This position may require long periods of standing, as well as walking or hiking. A minimum of 32 hours per week is required; a work week includes 8-hour shifts, 4 days a week, and weekends are required.

Volunteers live in the park. RV sites are located near our administrative and maintenance buildings, 350 yards from the visitor center. RV spaces can accommodate trailers or motorhomes up to 32 feet, which you must bring. Full hook-ups are available (electricity, water, and sewage). Cell coverage and laundry services are also available in the park.

Volunteers will be required to operate a government vehicle, and a valid driver’s license is required. Volunteers must also wear a uniform. We provide hats, jackets, shirts, and name tags.

When filling out your application, please indicate if you have a completed federal background investigation and a PIV card.
