Job Description
Lakeshore Resort is 9 cottages and 4 full-service RV hook ups located on popular South Manistique Lake near Curtis, Michigan. Curtis is centrally located to many of the most visited places in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Munising, Pictured Rocks, Sault Ste. Marie, Mackinac Island, Kitch-iti-kipi .
Expectations:
Campground hosts are a visitor’s first point of contact onsite and set the stage for a high-quality experience. Hosts welcome campers, answer questions, collect fees, and may perform maintenance/cleaning of their campground at times. They help to ensure memorable stays at our campgrounds! Skills to be successful include: a love of customer service and interacting well with visitors. Duties may vary depending on individual preferences and abilities. However, the most important duty is just the ability to be a contact person for the guests when the owner is not on-site.
Amenities on Site:
Host site has a full hook-ups (electricity, water, and sewer). Cell coverage in the area is not reliable depending on carrier, but high speed internet is available and therefore, wi-fi calling is an option. There is on-site coin laundry.
There is no bathroom and shower available outside the cottages, so RV’s and campers with shower access should only consider the position. During the season, an outdoor shower may be added as the camper site is developed.
The host will have full access to the docks, kayaks, and boats available at the resort.
Your Role:
As a Campground Host, you’ll serve as the friendly face of the campground, assisting visitors with information, maintaining facilities as needed, and ensuring a welcoming atmosphere for all who stay. Hosts should be comfortable working with and talking to fellow campers about policies. The ability to perform light maintenance, mowing, and cleaning is an added bonus. Special skills such as plumbing and general maintenance would be a plus!
Potential Duties:
Welcome visitors and assist them in checking into their cottages (as needed)
Additional transportation will be required a times.
Being the “face of the resort” when owner is not on property
Rent boats and outboard motors as needed
Additional Duties if desired with pay:
Mowing
Leaf blowing
Minor maintenance projects
Minor Plumbing
Preference will be given to volunteers who can stay the entire season, but flexibility is available at the beginning (spring) and ending of the season (fall).
Additional compensation is available depending upon the applicant
