About the Position:
Seeking a workamper to work a mixture of flexible and scheduled hours. The primary responsibility is to manage the Check-In desk and Store register. Additional responsibilities may include refilling wood bins, assisting in event setup/takedown and general cleanup.
We currently have a manager who operates the Store on weekends and the grounds during the week. We have 1 employee that operates the Store every other weekend.
The workamper position is needed to fill in the Store hours on the alternating weekends and to provide flexibility for our Manager to take time off as needed (usually 2 or 3 weekends a season).
I (the owner) manage the Store during the week, however I am periodically called away for non-campground related commitments. The workamper position would be expected to manage the Store during these times that I am away. Notice is provided for these hours no less than one week in advance.
Start date: April 26, 2024 (flexible)
Anticipated end date: Mid-October annually (flexible)
Ideally, we are looking for a couple to come back each year.
Primary Responsibility:
Operating the store (checking in guests, cash handling, taking phone messages)
Potential Responsibilities:
Filling wood barrels (we use bins instead of bundling with twine)
General cleanup (sticks, pinecones, fire rings, etc.)
Assist in event setup/take down
Hours:
10-20 per week
Compensation:
Seasonal site with water, electric and sewer hookups
Compensation will be provided for any work over 150 hours for the season (24 weeks)
About the Campground:
The campground has 65 sites on 10 acres. Currently, 24 of those sites are occupied by seasonal campers. We are open from May-mid October. We are a smaller campground with limited amenities, but we are located near a lake and the Eau Claire metropolitan area. We are known for a quiet, family friendly and clean atmosphere.
