Position: Camp Host / Host Couple
Portneuf Bend Campground is a small family owned campground / RV park located a half mile outside of Lava Hot Springs tucked away between beautiful mountains and the Portneuf river. The
campground has lush green grass, mature trees, a windy lazy river with amazing fishing and 80 spacious campsites along with a glamping tipi and wall tent. We also have Lava Outdoor Fun Rentals on site for any off time recreation. Lava Hot Springs is home to the world famous hot pools,
the Portneuf river, beautiful Idaho mountains, and a cozy main street full with food and shopping.
Job Description:
The Camp Host / Host Couple will be the guests’ first point of contact for any issues while staying in the park. The camp host will work together with other team members in providing the best experience for our campers. This position will be the eyes and ears of the park.
Qualifications
● Must be physically able to perform light yard work and be outside for most of the day.
● Must have good communication and issue resolution skills.
● Must be available throughout your work days l
● Familiar with using an ipad.
● During evening hours, we ask our hosts to act as eyes and ears for the campground and must be living on-site.
● You must bring your own RV to live in the park.
Responsibilities and Expectations:
● Understand and enforce all campground rules and policies. Goal of this position is to make sure the park is safe and enjoyable for all the guests. For example, enforcement of speed limits, child/dog care, and after-hours noise restrictions are very important.
● Assist guests upon arrival with finding their assigned site and be available for any questions
campers may have.
● Inspect sites when guests leave and prior to next guest arrival (ex. Garbage on sites or full firepits). Work with management to resolve any issues.
● Light grounds work including moving sprinklers on sites as needed.
● Clean and stock bathrooms in campground 3x per day or as needed ( 4 stalls total)
● Monitor after-hours activities and enforce quiet hours as needed.
● Be available to sell firewood, ice and other retail items.
● Help management in documenting extra tents, pets, or vehicles on sites.
● Call for emergency services as required.
● *optional for additional pay: Answer campground phone calls, mowing and rentals*
Compensation:
1. Compensation: Hosting Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday per week (we can work out a rotation of days with the Mon-Wed Hosts when needed!) is compensated with a Full hookup site (50 and 30 amp) including all utilities ($1400 market value) and an additional $150 per weekend with the following options to earn additional pay! (You can do additional pay items on your work days or off days!)
2. * Answering phone calls for additional pay: $40 per day 9am-9pm
3. *Help with Lava Outdoor Fun Rentals for additional pay: $ is based on a commission percentage and pays well as we are renting more toys each year!
4. *Mow and trim grass for additional pay: $100 per mow (usually weekly) $-TBD for trimming.
