Volunteer campground host positions at Hartford Beach State Park are available!

Dates: May-October

Positions include a free full-hookup (sewer, water, electric, picnic table, fire ring) campsite along with hourly milestone rewards (free camping certificates/prizes/gear/etc.) for services of 24 hours a week.

Duties of the positions include:

• Being available during busier times (Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays) to answer camper questions
• Campsite preparation upon arrival and campsite cleanup after departure
• Spot cleaning of park/campground facilities
• Reporting of any incidents or hazards to the direct supervisor

Located on the scenic shores of Big Stone Lake just 15 miles north of Milbank, South Dakota, Hartford Beach State Park holds 91 campsites and 4 camping cabins. The park offers endless recreational opportunities including world class perch and bluegill fishing, an archery range and 28-target course, miles of forest and prairie trails, disc golf, kayaking, birdwatching, and camping with amazing views. Relax and enjoy the lake at the park’s beautiful beach and picnic area to unwind and immerse yourself in the great outdoors.
