JOB DESCRIPTION:
Join the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service volunteer team at the Wolf Creek National Fish Hatchery Visitor/Environmental Education Center! We are currently seeking a volunteer to help staff our Visitor Center on weekends and assist in our outreach activities for June-September 2025.
Duties include: meeting/greeting public; answering questions; fielding phone calls; performing majority of cleaning (including center restrooms) & minor maintenance; leading tours and helping with field trips; caring for live animals; operating center gift shop; issuing hunting/fishing licenses; stocking/tracking/brochures; helping plan/prepare special events, workshops and outreach programs. Will be working alongside other volunteers to complete these tasks on busy weekends.
In exchange for an average of 20-22 hours/week, work camper volunteers receive a full hook up (FHU) deluxe campsite– level gravel lot, picnic table, fire ring; 50-30 amp service, water and sewer hook ups. Onsite laundry and limited WiFi (booster may be needed). Complimentary propane offered during winter months.
