Vista Recreation announced the opening of their 2023 application! If you’re not familiar with Vista Recreation, then this post will take you through the key points.
What is Vista Recreation?
Formerly known as RRM, CLM, and RRM-CLM Services, they are a private company that “partners with various public agencies at the federal, state, and local levels to operate campgrounds and recreation areas under long-term concession agreements”.
This week they announced that the 2023 job application is now open (bookmark it here or click here to apply directly on their recruitment site). The email said that there are more than “1,000 paid campground jobs in some of the most beautiful recreation areas in the country”. According to their website, they hire in these 15 states:

- Colorado
- Maine
- Michigan
- Minnesota
- Nevada
- New Hampshire
- New Mexico
- Oregon
- Tennessee
- Texas
- Washington
- Wisconsin
What does a Camp Host do?
Camp Host duties were described as: “manage stores, marinas, canoe rentals, boat ramps, and horseback riding facilities, but the most common position is managing a small campground or part of a larger campground.”

Here are some of the key things we noticed in reviewing the announcement and the job listing:
- Application: Be sure to scroll down when viewing the application! We noticed that the application page displays white space at the very top. If you scroll down, you should see the form.
- Time Frame / Season: The majority of work camping jobs run May-October, but some positions may be year round.
- Pay/Wages: Pay is at least local minimum wage, plus a free camp site and utilities
- Duos & Solos: The Campground Host position is typically filled by two people, but can be a single person role in certain locations. It’s worth noting that teams will need to fill out an application for each person.
- Locations: You will be able to specify specific areas where you prefer to work during the application process. You can learn more about their locations at https://camprrm.com/.
- Attention parents: The job description mentions that “minor children may not reside onsite in RVs”.
